SHASTA COUNTY
CAT COLONIES
Trap. Neuter. Release.
Shasta County, CA
ABOUT
There are estimated to be 200 cats occupying the hillsides of Shasta Lake. The cats have been a managed feeding station and a well known dumpsite to the public as the colony rests on the steep lake front to Shasta-Trinity National Forest.Â
The cats have overrun to campsites and have posed a safety risk on the interstate that wraps through the arms of Shasta Lake. They are multiplying and a steady rate and are seeking refuge to a threatening situation.Â
This “Shasta County Cat Colonies" is protecting this colony named “Shasta Lake Cat Colonies" from present and future danger. We are removing kittens and the sick, while maintaining multiple feeding at stations all along the hills. TNR efforts are currently underway.
